Analyzing NPP Response of Different Rangeland Types to Climatic Parameters over Mongolia

Global warming threatens ecosystem functions, biodiversity, and rangeland productivity in Mongolia. The study analyzes the spatial temporal distributions of Net Primary Production (NPP) its response to climatic parameters. also highlights how various land cover types respond fluctuations from 2003 2018. Boreal Ecosystem Productivity Simulator (BEPS) model was used simulate NPP last 16 years. Satellite remote sensing data products were mainly as input for model, where ground-based MODIS validate result. results indicated that BEPS moderately effective (R2 = 0.59, Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) 13.22 g C m−2) estimate Mongolian rangelands (e.g., grassland sparse vegetation). validation showed good agreement between estimates all vegetation types, including forest, shrubland, wetland 0.65). annual total Mongolia a slight increment with an increase 0.0007 Pg (0.68 per meter square) 2018 (p 0.82) due changes parameters change. Likewise, high increments unit area found forest NPP, while decreased trend observed shrubland. In conclusion, among three parameters, temperature factor largest influence on variations (r 0.917) followed precipitation 0.825), net radiation 0.787). Forest had low precipitation, inter-annual variation shows grassland, highly sensitive climate fluctuations.
